Being swung around by Dad

... although I'm only guessing it's Dad.

I took this photo through my grubby front window, looking down into the park at the foot of the tower opposite. Faces are not clear, with "Dad" even being hidden by the leaves of a tree, and the swingee moving too fast. Even onlooker sister is obscure, what with the dirt on my window and the tackiness of my camera. All of which is good. The individual faces are not the point.

What are they all learning? Trust. All sorts of physical stuff. Courage in the face of danger. (It could, after all, go horribly wrong.)

It was really fast, by the way.

It's never too soon to start with these things. My son and I spent weeks practicing "jump off the nappy changing table into Dad's arms" before grandma came to stay for his first birthday.

That men and women (generally, with numerous exceptions & much overlap etc. etc. etc.) perceive things differently. Part off the "jump off" game was "make mum or grandma squeal"; and I remember when I was small, being swung round by my uncle just like in your picture until my aunt came and said "stop that, you'll dislocate his shoulders". That a thrill might be worth risking a dislocated shoulder.
