I know nothing about this at all, other than the email I got about it today:
The Global Virtual Classroom project opened for business this week.It's a collaborative cross-border experience for primary and secondary schools, allowing them to develop both web and global communication skills so necessary today.
A mention in your blog would be greatly appreciated for this non-profit endeavor that is still searching for sponsors.

No comments on that project, but MIT is offering videotaped lectures and other materials for many (eventually all, I think) of their courses online for free.

I've sort of heard about this MIT stuff before, but never followed it up properly. So thanks especially for the url. I am investigating (I'm at the FAQ page now), and will almost certainly do a post on it.
This sure makes a change from bad news about the British Nationalised Education Industry.
The Global Virtual Classroom is an identical reincarnation of the ATT Virtual Classroom that ran from about 1997 to 2000. A new non profit group has taken in over. I am a fourth grade teacher in St. Louis, Missouri. My class has participated 3 previous years. It is a wonderful project! 3 classrooms in 3 different countries team up to create a website on any subject. 40% of the criteria a team is judged on is amount of collaboration. The others are 30% content and 30% design.
